Daney Jackson

Responsibilities
At Penn State, Daney provides leadership for the day-to-day operations of Penn State Cooperative Extension and is a key member of the College of Agricultural Sciences administrative team. He is the director of cooperative extension in facilitating collaboration across the College of Agricultural Sciences and with other colleges and outreach units of the university.

Personal Profile
Daney Jackson is the director of Penn State Cooperative Extension, effective August 1, 2004.

Daney Jackson became the associate director of Penn State Cooperative Extension, effective February 1, 2003. He has been involved in extension for 17 years, beginning in 1985 with Mississippi State University, where he served as a 4-H youth agent. He also served as an agriculture and natural resources extension agent in Mississippi.

Daney joined Ohio State University Extension as director of the 16-county South District in 1995. In 2000 he was named statewide personnel leader, where he directed the organization's human resources functions.

Daney then served as a graduate associate for a year at Ohio State University Extension's Ohio Center for Action on Coalition Development. He then returned to Mississippi Cooperative Extension, serving as an area extension agent for forestry and horticulture from 1992 to 1994.

Daney received dual bachelor's degrees (forestry, banking and finance) and a master's degree (extension education) from Mississippi State University and earned his doctorate in agricultural education from the Ohio State University.
